Cote was noted for his fine fielding, rifle arm and long ball hitting. He played on teams that posted an overall mark of 89-9-2, while winning three successive Eastern collegiate championships.

Cote signed with the New York Giants after graduation and played professional ball for several years. He passed away on Oct. 18, 1987.
