Hall of Fame
Frank Saba was the starting quarterback at Holy Cross and was widely acclaimed as a great field general, leading the Crusaders to a number of victories over nationally ranked teams during his tenure. His efforts were rewarded when he was selected All-New England and honorable mention All-America.
Following Army service in World War II, Saba became the head football coach at Brockton High School, soon becoming a veritable coaching legend and compiling one of the most remarkable records in Massachusetts High School football history.
After retirement, Frank relocated to Westborough in order to reside near his children and assist his son-in-law, Tony Wood, in coaching the football squad at St. John’s High School.
He passed away in 1998.
