Coleen Lynch was a star member of the Holy Cross swimming team in the 1990s.
As a freshman, she won 22 dual meet races while picking up two second place finishes at the Patriot League Championship and coming in fifth at the National Catholic Championships in the 200 freestyle.
During her sophomore season, Lynch won the 200 freestyle at the Patriot League Championship and, placed second in two other events and had two second place finishes at the National Catholic Championship. She was the winner of 31 races in dual meets that season.
In her junior year, Lynch won both the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle at the Patriot League Championship, in addition to being the winner of the 200 freestyle at the National Catholic Championship in a school record time of 1:53.02. She also qualified for the ECAC Championship that year, winning the 100 freestyle and placed second in the 200 freestyle.
Lynch’s senior year saw her win the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the Patriot League Championship, to earn Co-Swimmer of the Meet honors. She also won the 200 freestyle event at the National Catholic Championship, placed second in three events at the ECAC Championship and set the school record of 51.53 in the 100 freestyle in her final swim as a Crusader.
Lynch set four school records during her career and was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was selected to the Patriot League All-Decade Team for the 1990s and the Patriot league 25th Anniversary Team in 2015.
