Tony Melink was an outstanding placekicker for the Holy Cross football teams of the mid-1980s.

He graduated as the Crusaders’ second all-time leading scorer with 222 career points, while holding the career records for field goals made (33), extra points made (123) and extra point percentage (94.6 percent).

Melink had a stellar senior season in which he scored 66 points while hitting 11 of 18 field goal attempts and 33 of 36 extra points. Following his senior year, he was named first team All-New England, first team All-ECAC and honorable mention All-America.

Melink played on teams which accumulated an overall record of 31-13-1, including the 1983 squad which won the Lambert Cup, was chosen ECAC Team of the Year and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs.
