Glenn Grieco came to Holy Cross after earning All-County, All-Metropolitan and Catholic All-State honors at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, N.J.

He played in every game as a tackle during his sophomore year at Holy Cross, then moved to middle guard as a junior and was the defensive star as Holy Cross handed Yale its only defeat in 1967. Grieco also received the Turco Award as the outstanding player of the 1967 Homecoming Game, after the Crusaders downed Colgate 17-0.

The captain of the 1967 squad, Grieco was named first team All-East once and All-New England twice. He also won the Davitt Award from the Varsity Club as the program’s outstanding lineman during his junior and senior years, and earned the Msgr. George Connor Award as the senior who his teammates were most proud of.
