After winning many local and state junior championships in golf, Gerry Anderson entered Holy Cross where he continued to show his outstanding ability.

He teamed with Willie Turnesa, the first golfer to be named to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame at Holy Cross, and the Crusaders won the New England Championship in 1937 and 1938.

This was a golden era for golf at Holy Cross and Anderson played an important part as did the whole team.

After graduation, he competed in the nationals in Seattle, Wash., and in 1962 he teamed with Hall of Famer Paul Harney in the Bing Crosby Tournament.

Anderson was a winning golf coach for 10 years at Holy Cross and continued to win many championships in the New England area as a player himself.
