Andy Natowich was a three-sport standout for the Crusaders in football, baseball and basketball.
On the gridiron, he was the regular halfback for three years, known for his passing, running and punting ability. He starred in Holy Cross’ 55-12 victory over Boston College in 1942.
In baseball, was a regular outfielder on coach Jack Barry’s squad for three years, while in basketball he played for coach Moose Krause.
Natowich was a proud veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged from active service on Nov. 19, 1944. He went on to play for the Washington Redskins in the National Football League.
Natowich later became a coach at Brattleboro Union High School in Vermont, where his teams won several state championships in football (1950, 1957 and 1965) and baseball (1951, 1956 and 1961).
He passed away in 2014.
