Dwight Pernell was a star member of the Holy Cross men’s basketball team from 1986-1990.
At the time of his graduation, Pernell held the all-time program record with 204 steals, while ranking third in both points scored (1,891) and assists (430). He also hit 50.4 percent of his field goal attempts, 45.6 percent of his three-pointers and 81.7 percent of his free throws during his career as a Crusader.
In his senior season, when he served as a team captain, Pernell led the Crusaders to an overall record of 24-6, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference North Division title and a trip to the National Invitation Tournament.
A two-time first team All-MAAC selection, Pernell also earned All-New England and NABC All-District honors as a senior.
