Ed Brawley, who hailed from Peabody, Mass., was a gifted and inspirational leader.

The 1915 football captain played center end and was the kicker.

He was instrumental in 14-14 tie at Army in 1915 and later in the season helped the Crusaders spoil the dedication of a new football field at Boston College with a 9-0 victory.
