Charlie Pacunas was a two-sport star in football and lacrosse for the Crusaders. He excelled in football as a two-way end and in lacrosse as a center midfielder.

The football team went 17-10-1 during his three seasons on the varsity, while posting a winning record every year. As a senior captain in 1959, Pacunas earned first team All-New England honors while catching 16 passes for 325 yards and a touchdown.

In lacrosse, he was a second team All-New England selection as a senior and twice earned honorable mention All-America honors. In addition, Pacunas was selected to play in the 1960 North-South College All-Star Game.

Pacunas was honored by the Varsity Club as its Crusader of the Year in 1960.
