Dave Morrison was a standout thrower for the Holy Cross track and field team in the mid-1970s.

A team captain during his junior and senior seasons, Morrison was a two-time All-America and All-East selection, while earning All-New England honors all four years.

He won the New England championship in the 35-pound weight throw as a sophomore in 1973 with a distance of 58 feet, 10 inches, and broke the school records in both the hammer (58.85 meters) and the 35-pound weight throw (18.78 meters).

Morrison was also selected to compete at the United States Olympic Trials in both 1972 and 1976.

Following his graduation, Morrison received a medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
