Hall of Fame
A native of Springfield, Mass., Paul Brissette starred at Cathedral High School in both baseball and basketball. Â
Concentrating his efforts on baseball at Holy Cross, Brissette was the starting second baseman on the 1952 College World Series championship squad and was the batting star of the 15-3 win over Western Michigan when he had a pair of doubles. During that 1952 season, he helped the national championship team to an overall record of 22-3.
Brissette’s solid play led to his selection as District I All-Star at second base following both his junior and senior seasons. Known as a steady hitter, he batted .275 during the national championship season, followed up with a .328 average in 1953 and a .292 mark as a senior in 1954.
Brissette later enjoyed a successful career in the radio and television industry as owner of Brissette Broadcasting Co.
