Norinne Powers was a standout forward for the Holy Cross women’s basketball team in the early 1990s.
She led the Crusaders to Patriot League Tournament titles in 1991 and 1993, with the team posting an overall record of 83-36 during her four years. During her sophomore year, Powers helped Holy Cross to a 78-67 victory over No. 3 Rutgers during the regular season and an 81-74 win over Maryland during the NCAA Tournament.
Named the Patriot League Player of the Year in both 1992 and 1993, Powers also earned Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player honors as a senior. She was later named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team and the Patriot League All-Decade team for the 1990s.
At the time of her graduation, Powers ranked third all-time at Holy Cross with 1,578 points scored and 733 rebounds.
Following her senior year, Powers received the Varsity Club’s John A. Meegan Athletic Achievement Award.
