A multi-event performer, Kevin O’Brien is considered one of the best all-around track athletes in the history of Holy Cross.
In his sophomore season, O’Brien won the high jump at the IC4A Championship with a school-record height of 6’8”. He also scored 18 points during a dual meet with Connecticut, winning the high jump, the broad jump and the 60-yard high hurdles, while placing second in the low hurdles. In addition, O’Brien led the Crusaders to the team title at the New England Championship, scoring points in four events while winning the 110-yard high hurdles.
During his junior year, O’Brien set an all-time school record by scoring 106 points over the course of the season. That year he won both the triple jump and the high jump at the New England Championship.
As a senior, O’Brien won five events in a dual meet on three separate occasions (against Dartmouth, Springfield and UMass). He also won the 110-yard high hurdles at the New England Championship as the Crusaders again won the team title.
Kevin finished his career as a four-time New England champion and held several Holy Cross records.
