Hilary Mahaney was a star member of the Holy Cross football team in the early 1920s.
A four-year starter at end, he led the Crusaders to an overall record of 27-8-2 during his collegiate career.
Mahaney served as team captain during his senior year, when he earned first team All-America honors.
After his graduation, he spent five years as the line coach at Boston University, followed by two seasons as the head coach in 1930 and 1931.
Mahaney passed away in 1969.
