Pete Muldoon was the field general of some outstanding Holy Cross football squads in the mid-1980s.
He quarterbacked teams which went 31-13-1 overall, with the Crusaders winning the 1983 Lambert Cup and advancing the 1983 NCAA Division I-AA quarterfinals. Muldoon was an honorable mention All-America selection as a senior, when he placed eighth in the voting for he Davey O’Brien Award as the nation’s best quarterback.
Over the course of his Holy Cross career, Muldoon hit on 339 of 616 passes for 4,801 yards and 25 touchdowns, in addition to rushing 396 times for 746 yards and 20 scores. He graduated as the Crusaders’ all-time leader in both passing yards and yards of total offense.
Following his graduation, Muldoon was drafted by the New Jersey Generals in the second round of the United States Football League draft.
