Hall of Fame
Bill Horan was a two-sport standout for the Crusaders in baseball and basketball.
He made the varsity baseball team as a freshman in 1920 as a pitcher and posted an overall record of 12-2 (the most victories ever by a Holy Cross freshman). He then posted a 10-1-1 record during the 1921 season, while helping the Crusaders to an overall mark of 30-2-1. Horan finished his four-year career with an overall record of 33-7-2 on the mound.
Horan was also a three-year starter at guard on the hardwood, helping lead the 1921-1922 team to an overall mark of 14-3 and the New England Championship. He also served as the captain of the basketball team in 1933-1923.
After graduation, Horan soon became associated with the movie industry. He joined Warner Bros. Pictures and served for over 25 years as a salesman and later became eastern district sales manager before retiring in 1961.
He passed away in 1981.
