Bob Credle was a middle distance and cross country runner for Holy Cross from 1961-1965.

While serving as a team co-captain during his senior year, he won the New England outdoor championship in the 440-yard run with a time of 48.5 seconds. Credle was also the New England outdoor champion in the 880-yard run as a junior with a time of 1:52.8 seconds.

A key part of Crusader teams which captured the New England title in both his junior and senior years, he also placed third  in the 600-yard run at the NCAA indoor championship in 1964 with a time of 1:10.8. With that mark, Credle broke the school record in the 600-yard run, which would stand for eight years.
