With Harvard leading 14-0, Holy Cross came to life in the second half of the 1926 game.  Daly’s line plunges could not be stopped, and the Purple went on to win 19-14.

He was considered one of the best fullbacks in the East and was named All-East and honorable mention All-America. Some of his outstanding games were against Western Maryland, Fordham and Boston College.

Following his graduation, Daly became a practicing attorney. He is a Past President of the Boston College Law School Alumni Association and served on the Special Massachusetts Crime Commission from 1953 to 1957.
