Tom Alberghini was a star offensive lineman on the Holy Cross football team from 1939-1942, helping lead the Crusaders to an overall record of 20-15-4 (.564) during his four-year career.

He opened up many holes for the likes of John Grigas, John Bezemes and Ed Murphy, all of whom are inducted in the Hall of Fame. During Alberghini's senior season, the Crusaders ended the year with a 55-12 victory over previously unbeaten and top-ranked Boston College at Fenway Park.

He was named All-East at the conclusion of his senior year, and played in the East-West Shrine Game.

Alberghini went on to play professionally with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League.
