Hall of Fame
Gene Malinowski was a star pitcher for the Holy Cross baseball team.
As a sophomore in 1959, he posted a 2-2 record with a 1.97 earned run average.
During his junior season, Malinowski went 8-2 overall while leading the team with a 2.04 earned run average and 56 strikeouts in 80 innings pitched. He earned third team All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association, in addition to being selected first team All-New England and All-District. He threw a no-hitter against Boston College on May 30 of that season, while leading the team to the NCAA playoffs.
After graduation, Malinowski played professionally in the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers organizations.
