Small of stature, he served primarily as a blocking back and teamed with Bill Osmanski, Ronnie Cahill and Hank Giardi to form one of the greatest backfields in Holy Cross history.
Despite his size, Ouellette helped lead the Crusaders to an undefeated season in 1937, while the 1938 team lost only once (by one point against a powerful and nationally ranked Carnagie Tech team.
Ouellette threw a touchdown pass to John O’Donnell in 1936 to beat Carnegie Tech 7-0.
