Julie Leclair was a standout distance runner for the Crusader track and cross country teams in the mid-1980s.

In cross country, she helped Holy Cross win National Catholic, ECAC and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles in 1984, along with three straight NCAA Regional championships from 1982-1984. Leclair and the Crusaders also placed in the top 10 at the NCAA Division II National Championship three times, in 1982 (seventh), 1983 (second) and 1984 (sixth).

Individually, she was the MAAC champion in cross country in 1984, and was selected as an All-American in 1982 and a Catholic All-American in 1984.

Leclair was also named All-New England three times in indoor track (1982, 1984 and 1985) and twice in outdoor track (1983 and 1984), while being a three-time All-ECAC three times (1983, 1984 and 1985).

In addition, she set a school record in the indoor two-mile run with a time of 10:40.14.
