Ted Strojny was a two-way tackle, one of the “60-minute men” on the celebrated 1942 squad which shocked Boston College 55-12 in one of the greatest upsets in college football history.

His career was interrupted by the war, where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Following his release from the Army, Strojny rejoined the Crusaders and was the standout lineman in a 7-6 loss to Miami (Fla.) in the 1946 Orange Bowl.

A consensus All-New England pick and an honorable mention All-American, he played for the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers after his graduation.
