A native of Milford, Mass., Alzerini was a three-year starter at end for Crusader teams that compiled a 17-10-2 overall record. One of the greatest ends ever turned out by Holy Cross, he was selected to the All-America team of 1929.

He played all three of his varsity years for famed coach Cleo O'Donnell. When O'Donnell retired from coaching at Holy Cross in order to devote full time duties to his position as the director of athletics, he named Alzerini as the best end he had ever coached.

Classified as a loyal friend and square shooter, he was admired as much for his non-football qualities as seen via his participation in extra curricula activities such as the Milford Club (Vice President) and the school sodality.

Alzerini also played one year of varsity baseball for Jack Barry in 1928. The team went 19-3 as he played alongside Hall of Famers Blondy Ryan, Red Desautels and Con Hurley.

Alzerini passed away a mere three years after graduation, succumbing to tuberculosis.
