Kevin Kilgallen was a standout thrower as a member of the Holy Cross men’s track and field team.
During his junior year, he broke a 23-year old school record in the hammer with a throw of 172-feet, 11-inches.
Kilgallen went on to break his own record numerous times, and finished his career with a long hammer throw of 186-feet, 5-inches.
He qualified for the NCAA Championship during both his junior and senior years, finishing fifth in the nation in the hammer as a senior and eighth as a junior.
Kilgallen also placed second in the hammer at the 1962 IC4A Championship, and earned both All-America and All-East honors during his senior season.
