Hall of Fame
Ray Lynch was a standout player for the Holy Cross football team in the mid-1910s.
He was just the second player in school history to serve as a team captain for two seasons, leading the 1916 and 1917 squads.
Although he played in an era before statistics were kept, Lynch was remembered by all who saw him play as one of the finest athletes to ever represent the Crusaders. He had great strength, speed and athletic skills which made him a force on offense and relentless on defense.
After his graduation, Lynch would later serve as the head coach of the Brooklyn Bay Parkways and the Brooklyn Eagles of the American Football Association.
He passed away in 1965.
