WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior goaltender Abby Hornung has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 19-25. Hornung played a key role in the Holy Cross women’s ice hockey team’s 3-0 victory at Providence on Saturday.

During the victory over the Friars, Hornung made 35 saves while posting her third shutout of the season. The 35 saves tied for her third-highest single-game total this year.

On the season, Hornung now stands 11-5-1 with a 1.42 goals against average and a .945 save percentage. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has an 18-21-4 record with a 1.75 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.

Currently ranked No. 13 in the nation, Holy Cross (18-7-1 overall, 10-6-1 Hockey East) returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 29, when it travels to Boston to take on No. 6 Northeastern at Walter Brown Arena at 7 p.m.
