WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore forward Alex Peterson has been named the Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 30-December 6. Peterson led the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team to a 2-1 record in three games last week.
During Tuesday's 2-1 overtime victory at Bentley, Peterson recorded an assist on the Crusaders' first goal of the night, which tied the score at 1-1 in the second period. He then posted another assist during Friday's narrow 2-1 loss to Sacred Heart, setting up a goal which put Holy Cross up 1-0 in the first period. Peterson concluded the week by scoring a pair of goals in Sunday's 6-4 win over Sacred Heart, including the game winner late in the second period.
On the season, Peterson now leads the team in scoring with six points on two goals and four assists. Over the course of his collegiate career, he now has nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 40 games played.
The Crusaders (3-2 overall, 2-1 Atlantic Hockey) return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 9, when they play host to Bentley at 6:00 p.m.
