The Lead: Juniors Kalif Raymond (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) led Holy Cross with first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and 800-meter run as the Crusaders placed second overall in Tuesday afternoon's Holy Cross Classic at Hart Track. Rhode Island took first in the team competition with 219 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Freshman Phil Zobrest (Alden, N.Y.) placed in the top-five in both the shot put (seventh, 12.70m) and discus throw (fourth, 40.03m). Sophomore Kyle Cunningham (Wilmington, Mass.) threw a career-best distance of 40.02 meters in the hammer throw and placed seventh. 
• The Crusaders took two top-10 finishes in the javelin in freshman Myles O'Brien (North Easton, Mass.) and sophomore Kyle Quinn (North Andover, Mass.). O'Brien took sixth with a distance of 38.74 meters, while Quinn followed in seventh at 36.74 meters, respectively. Quinn also jumped a career-high distance of 6.23 in the long jump. 
• Sophomore Tyson Youngs (San Diego, Calif.) had the top finish in the triple jump for Holy Cross as he jumped a season-best 12.68 meters and placed fourth. 
• In the high jump, freshman Josh Nickerson (Danvers, Mass.) and Quinn finished back-to-back as Nickerson finished fourth (1.74m) and Quinn placed fifth (1.69m). 
• Junior Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) finished in second in the pole vault with a height of 4.40 meters, while sophomore Michael Araujo (Southbridge, Mass.) followed in fourth at 4.10 meters. 
• The 4 x 100 meter relay team finished in fourth with an NEICAAA qualifying time of 42.88, as the 4 x 400 meter relay team of junior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.), freshman Nicholas Boire (Manchester, N.H.), sophomore William Ward (North Attleboro, Mass.) and senior co-captain Mike Galasso (Danvers, Mass.) took fourth with a time of 3:26.05. 
• Holy Cross had two top-10 finishes in the 110-meter hurdles from sophomore William Raven (Newburyport, Mass.) and freshman Will D'Alessio (Farmington, Conn.). Raven took the fifth spot with a time of 16.02, while D'Alessio followed in eighth at 16.73. 
• Raymond took the top spot in the 100-meter dash with an IC4A qualifying time of 10.82 with senior Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass) crossing the finish line behind him in ninth (11.58). 
• In the 1,500-meter run, junior Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) led the way in second with a season-best time of 3:59.16, while senior Jake Griffin (Billerica, Mass.) finished in fifth with a career-high time of 4:12.16. 
• Galasso crossed the finish line in fifth at 50.26 with Boire following in 10th with a time of 50.99 in the 400-meter dash. 
• Holy Cross had three NEICAAA qualifying times in the 800-meter run from Tejidor, Keefer and senior co-captain Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.). Tejidor led the way in first with a career-high time of 1:53.03, while Keefer and Dutton followed in third (1:53.46) and fourth (1:53.53). 
• Freshman James Donahue (Bronxville, N.Y.) represented the Crusaders in the 400-meter hurdles and took the third spot with a time of 57.06. 
• In the 200-meter dash, senior Michael Techiera (Foxborough, Mass.) took 15th at 23.78, while Boire followed in 16th at 23.86. 
• Sophomore John Bentivegna (Staten Island, N.Y.) finished in third with a career-high time of 15:37.33 with fellow classmate Matt Greco (Eagleville, Pa.) taking fourth with a time of 15:38.39. 

UP NEXT

• The Crusaders return to the track on Sunday, April 26 as they head down to Providence, R.I. to compete in the Brown Springtime Invitational at 10:00 a.m.
