CAMBRIDGE, Mass.— The Holy Cross track and field teams sent seven athletes to the MIT Final Qualifier at Sherie and Don (1961) Morrison Track on Thursday, May 15. 

MEN'S MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

• Junior captain Liam Lyons broke his own 1500m school record with a time of 3:40.18 to win the event. His time currently ranks 33rd in the region. He last set the record (3:43.98) at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational on Mar. 21, 2025. Sophomore Joseph Mahon was a pacer in Lyons's race, running the first 700m of the race.
• Senior captain Aidan Bergin ran a 10.85 100m dash prelim time for sixth place to qualify for the final. He came in sixth in the final with a time of 10.90.
• Senior captain Brian Fennelly qualified for the 110m hurdles final after posting a 14.45, the second fastest prelim time. He placed second in the final with a time of 14.46.

WOMEN'S MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

• Senior captain Haley Murphy won the 400m hurdles final with a time of 59.10.
• Junior Celia Kulis was the fastest in the 100m hurdles prelim, clocking in at 13.75 to qualify for the final. She went on to win the final, crossing the finish at 13.74.
• Sophomore Grace Ryan clinched second in the javelin with a mark of 40.73m.
• Senior captain Maura Switzer placed fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.68m.

NEXT UP:

• The Holy Cross track and field teams conclude the 2025 outdoor season and return next winter for the 2025-26 indoor season.
