Holy Cross Athletics

Freshman catcher Nick Spaner of the Holy Cross baseball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for competition April 14-April 20.

Spaner appeared in four games for the Crusaders this past week. He slashed .385/.467/.615 for a 1.082 OPS with a home run, three RBI, five runs scored, and two walks. In the mid-week win at Army on April 16, he posted the first three hit showing of his career, going 3-for-4 with his first collegiate home run to go with three RBI, three runs scored, and a walk. He followed that up with a 1-for-3 showing with a run scored in the seven inning win at Navy (April 19) and a 1-for-4 performance with a run scored, a walk, and a runner caught stealing in the nationally televised win at Navy (April 20).

Holy Cross (21-20, 12-7 PL) ends the regular-season with eight straight home games beginning on Tuesday, April 22 versus nonconference opponent Dartmouth (7-21, 5-10 IVY). First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
