WORCESTER, Mass.— Sophomore Sarah Potter of the Holy Cross field hockey team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from Sept. 27-Oct. 3.
Potter helped lead the Crusaders to a 1-1 week, with a victory over Merrimack and a loss to Lehigh. Potter posted a career-high five points, off two goals and one assist, in the Crusaders' 5-2 victory over Merrimack. Her assist against the Warriors, was a career-first.
The North Reading, Mass. native, is the first Crusader since 2019 to tally five points in a single game. Additionally, Potter played 36 minutes against Lehigh in the Crusaders' second game of the week. Potter now has seven points on the season, off three goals and one assist.
Potter is the second field hockey student-athlete to be named Crusader of the Week, after senior Caitlin Little earned the honor on Aug. 30.
Holy Cross returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. against Brown at Hart Turf Field.
