WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper Mia McCloskey has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from August 25-31. McCloskey made 12 saves while allowing just two goals for the Holy Cross field hockey team in a pair of games last week.

During Friday’s 2-1 loss to Quinnipiac in the season opener, McCloskey tallied 11 saves. She then recorded her second-career clean sheet on Sunday as the Crusaders’ shutout Merrimack 7-0.

On the season, McCloskey owns a 1.14 goals-against average and an .857 save percentage.

Holy Cross (1-1 overall) returns to action on Friday, Sept. 5, when they host Providence for a 6 p.m. matchup.
