Senior Lindsay Berger of the Holy Cross women’s basketball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for competition Feb. 24-March 2.
Berger helped the Crusaders to a pair of huge wins for Patriot League seeding versus Colgate and at Bucknell. She started and played in both games, averaging a team-high 17.0 points with 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 66.7% (16-of-24) from the field.
She scored 12 points with six boards, three assists, two steals and a block on 60% (6-of-10) shooting in the 59-55 win versus Colgate (Feb. 26) and followed that up by matching a career-high with 22 points and 10 field goal conversions to go with six boards, four assists and three blocks on 71.4% (10-of-14) shooting in the road victory at Bucknell (March 1).
Berger currently leads the Patriot League in field goal percentage (54.9%), while ranking tied for fifth in blocks per game (0.9), eighth in rebounding (5.6) and 11th in scoring (12.3). In 17 conference games, the team captain leads the league in field goal percentage (57.6%), ranks tied for third in blocks per game (1.1), sixth in scoring (13.4) and seventh in rebounding (6.1).
The Crusaders (18-10, 11-6 PL) welcome Army West Point (21-6, 13-4 PL) to the Hart Center Arena on Wednesday, March 5 at 6 p.m.
