Junior goalie Abby Hornung of the Holy Cross women’s hockey team has been selected as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Jan. 27 – Feb. 2.

Hornung was in net for both games against New Hampshire and Maine. She made 32 saves against the Wildcats while only allowing one goal in on the weekend. She took home the 1-0 OT victory, making 27 saves and earning her first career shutout. She had a 0.50 goals-against average with a .983 save percentage on the weekend series. Hornung now owns a 1.93 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage on the season.

Holy Cross women's ice hockey (8-16-3, 4-14-3) returns to action on Feb. 7 when they host Providence (16-9-3, 12-7-2) for game one on the weekend. Puck drop is slated for 6 p.m. at the Hart Center Rink for their Winter Homecoming and Purple Out game.
