Senior Bronagh Power-Cassidy of the Holy Cross women’s basketball team has been chosen as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Dec. 11-Dec. 21.
Power-Cassidy averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.0 assists per game on 52 percent (13-of-25) shooting and 45.5 percent (5-for-11) three-point efficiency in a 2-0 week for the Crusaders.
She was named the PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday following a 65-41 victory over Northeastern. Power-Cassidy produced a season and game-high 24 points in 32 minutes of action shooting 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the field with six rebounds, three triples, an assist, a steal and a block. 15 of her 24 points came in the second half where the Crusaders outscored the Huskies 39-19.
With 7:11 left in the fourth quarter, Power-Cassidy became the 36th member of the program's 1,000 point club by knocking down a three-ball on the right wing.
During a 55-43 win against Merrimack on Thursday, Power-Cassidy added 11 points on 50 percent (3-of-6) shooting with two three-pointers, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Power-Cassidy paces the Crusaders in scoring (13.8) which is tied for sixth in the Patriot League. She also is tied for fifth in the conference in three-pointers per game (1.7) and ranks ninth in rebounding (5.9).
