Freshman Jack Sorenson of the Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving team has been chosen as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for October 17-October 23.

Sorenson was named the Male Swimmer of the Meet after leading the Crusaders to their first Worcester City Championship since the 2011-12 campaign.

Sorenson won three individual races (200-yard backstroke, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard back) and three relays (200-yard medley, 400-yard free, 400-yard medley) helping Holy Cross total 700 points.

In the 400 free relay, Sorenson helped set the new Worcester City Championship record as the relay squad completed the event 3:14.77.

The Crusaders (1-0, 0-0 Patriot League) hit the road this weekend for an 11 a.m. dual meet with nonconference foe Fairfield.
