WORCESTER, Mass.— Senior Christa Jay Moore of the women's track and field team has been named the Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 12-18. Moore smashed her own previous school record in the pole vault, jumping 4.08m last week.
In a dual meet against Rhode Island on Wednesday, April 14, Moore jumped 4.08m in the pole vault, besting her previous school record of 3.97m. Moore now sits at 23rd on the NCAA East Regional Qualifying List, with the top-48 student-athletes qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary round.
Moore's 4.08m jump is the best mark in the Patriot League this season. It also marks the first time a member of the Holy Cross women's track and field team has jumped above 4.00m in the pole vault.
Moore and the Crusaders are back in action at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship, beginning on Friday, April 30 in West Point, N.Y. Moore will be looking to claim her second outdoor Patriot League title in the pole vault at the meet.
