WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior goaltender
Abby Hornung has been selected as one of 12 semifinalists for the 2026 National Women's Goalie of the Year Award, as announced by the Women's Hockey Commissioners Association.
On the year, Hornung stands 11-6-1 with two shutouts, a 1.46 goals against average and a .944 save percentage. She currently ranks fifth in the nation in goals against average and sixth in save percentage. Over the course of her collegiate career, Hornung has an 18-22-4 record with a 1.75 goals against average and a .941 save percentage.
The 12 semifinalists advanced from a Watch List of 31 outstanding netminders, in voting by a national panel of coaches, administrators and media members. Three finalists will be announced during the conference championships and the winner will be announced during this year's NCAA Frozen Four in University Park, Pa.
Holy Cross is currently ranked No. 13 in the nation with an overall record of 18-9-2, while standing in third place in Hockey East with a mark of 10-8-2 in conference play (35 points). The Crusaders return to action when they play host to New Hampshire on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m.
