Naemi Herzig, Swiss Olympic Team

Naemi Herzig named to Swiss Olympic Team

Holy Cross women’s ice hockey freshman forward Naemi Herzig has been named to the Swiss National Team for the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from Feb. 6-22.

I’m incredibly honored to represent my country at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan. This moment is a childhood dream come true. I’m so proud, humbled and grateful beyond words. I wouldn’t be here without the unwavering support of my family, friends, coaches and teammates.

Herzig will become just the sixth student-athlete in Holy Cross history to take part in the Olympics. She will be the Crusaders’ first-ever female Olympian and first-ever Winter Olympian. In addition, she will be the first Crusader since 1924 to compete in the Olympics while still enrolled at Holy Cross.
