WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Alexia Moreau and freshman
Violet Carroll both recorded one goal and one assist, but the 13th-ranked Holy Cross women's ice hockey team was edged by Boston College 4-3 in overtime at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders fall to 18-9-2 on the season and 10-8-2 in Hockey East, while the Eagles improve to 13-15-1 overall and 11-7-1 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Holy Cross opened the scoring in the first period, when Moreau put home a rebound after a shot by Carroll had been saved.
• Boston College responded later in the first with a goal by Olivia Maffeo to tie the game at 1-1.
• The game remained tied until the third period, when Carroll scored off a pass from Moreau to put the Crusaders back in front.
• Holy Cross then added a goal from sophomore
Amanda Aslan to go up 3-1 with just under 15 minutes left to play.
• The Eagles came back with goals by Lauren Glaser and Jade Arnone to tie the game at 3-3 and force overtime.
• In the extra session, Maffeo scored her second goal of the day to give Boston College the win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Carroll now has 24 points on the year, the highest single-season total by any Holy Cross player since joining Hockey East.
• Senior
Brooke Loranger made 37 saves on the night.
• The Eagles finished the game with a 41-34 advantage in shots on goal.

• Holy Cross returns home on Saturday, Feb. 7, when it plays host to New Hampshire at 6 p.m.
