WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior goaltender
Abby Hornung has been named a 2026 Hockey East third team All-Star, as announced by the conference office. Hornung, who was previously selected as a second team All-Start in 2025, becomes the first two-time All-Hockey East selection in program history.
Hornung has started 22 games in goal for the Crusaders this season, posting an 11-9-2 record with 559 saves, three shutouts, a 1.60 goals against average and a .941 save percentage. She currently leads Hockey East and ranks fifth in the nation in goals against average, in addition to standing second in the conference and seventh in the country in save percentage. Over the course of her collegiate career, Hornung stands 18-25-5 with 1,346 saves, five shutouts, a 1.79 save percentage and a .940 goals against average. She owns the highest career save percentage in program history, while standing third in goals against average.
Holy Cross (18-12-3 overall, 10-11-3 Hockey East) returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 28, when it plays host to New Hampshire in the quarterfinal round of the Hockey East Tournament. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 2 p.m., and admission is free.
