WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior goaltender Brooke Loranger and freshman forward Violet Carroll have been honored by Hockey East for their play last week. For competition from Oct. 20-26, Loranger was named the Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, while Carroll was selected as the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week. The duo helped the Crusader women's ice hockey sweep a pair of games from Post over the weekend.

Loranger, who also earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors earlier this year, picked up her third career shutout during Friday's 2-0 victory over Post. She totaled 13 saves during the win over the Eagles. On the season, Loranger now stands 3-1 with 1.01 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has a 9-24-2 record with a 2.61 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.

Carroll, who receives her second straight Hockey East Rookie of the Week honor, tallied four points on one goal and three assists over the weekend. During Friday's home win, she assisted on both of the Crusaders' goals. Then in Sunday's 5-0 victory at Post, Carroll tallied one goal and one assist. Overall this season, she leads the team in scoring with 10 points on three goals and seven assists.

Holy Cross (7-2 overall, 0-1 Hockey East) returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when it travels to No. 8 Connecticut for a 1 p.m. game.
