Field Hockey

Field hockey set to face Vermont and Bryant

The Holy Cross field hockey team will host both Vermont and Bryant this weekend at neutral sites. The Crusaders will begin with the contest against Vermont on Sept. 9 at Harvard University's Berylson Field for a 3 p.m. game, followed by a contest on Sept. 11 against Bryant played at Providence College's Lennon Family Field at noon.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSADERS (1-3)
  • The Crusaders fell short in their last two contests.
  • Senior midfielder and Preseason All-Patriot League selection Sinead Walsh currently leads the team in points with one goal and one assist.
  • Junior goaltender Brooke Ross has been in the cage every game this season and has earned a GAA of 1.43.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CATAMOUNTS (2-1)
  • Holy Cross has already faced two other America East teams in Stanford and UC Davis where they went 1-1.
  • Maddie Moran was named the America East Player of the Week last week for her performance against Merrimack where she scored one goal and earned two assists.
 
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE BULLDOGS (1-3)
  • Bryant also downed Merrimack earlier this week 2-1 for their first victory of the season.
  • Lotte Gutink led the Bulldogs in points with one goal and one assist.
  • Olivia Clarke scored the game-winning goal with 9:09 remaining in the fourth quarter.
