The Holy Cross field hockey team has announced its 2022 schedule. The Crusaders' slate consists of 17 contests, featuring 11 nonconference opponents and six league matchups.
Head coach Lindsay Jackson's squad kicks the season off with a trip to the West Coast, where they will face Stanford (Aug. 26) and UC Davis (Aug. 27) for the first time in program history.
The non-conference schedule will continue with another road game at Fairfield (Sept. 2). Due to facility enhancements at the Hart Turf Field in Worcester, the Crusaders will host three games at neutral sites: St. Francis (Sept. 4 at Providence College), Vermont (Sept. 9 at Harvard University) and Bryant University (Sept. 11 at Providence College)
Patriot League play begins for the Crusaders against Bucknell (Sept. 17) for their anticipated first game at the newly renovated Hurt Turf Field. The team will host Merrimack the following Tuesday (Sept. 20). The Crusaders will then travel to Boston to face BU (Sept. 24) and return home to host Davidson the next day (Sept. 25).
To begin October, the team will hit the road to play Providence College (Oct. 2). The next week, the Crusaders will host opponent American University (Oct. 9). The following weekend, they will travel to Colgate (Oct. 14) and return to host LIU (Oct. 16). The team's final road game will be at Lehigh (Oct. 22). They will round out the regular season with a pair of home games against Lafayette (Oct. 29) and Towson (Oct. 30).
The Patriot League Tournament begins with the semifinal round on Nov. 3 before the championship game on Nov. 5.
Select games will be broadcast live on ESPN+. A complete fall broadcast schedule will be announced at a later date.
