WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman forward
Millie Sirum has been named the Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 28 through January 3. Sirum helped lead the Holy Cross women's ice hockey program to a 5-2 win over New Hampshire, the program's first victory ever over the Wildcats.
During Wednesday's win, Sirum scored two goals and picked up an assist. She scored the opening goal of the game at the 12:29 mark of the first period.
Bryn Saarela put a shot on goal straight off a faceoff and Sirum was there to collect the rebound. Sirum repaid the favor seven minutes later when she set Saarela up with a pass across the crease for the second goal of the game. After UNH cut the lead to 3-1, Sirum scored off another rebound midway through the third to put the game out of reach.
On the year, Sirum is second on the team in both goals (3) and points (7). She is tied for the team lead in assists (4), while she sits atop the squad with two power play goals.
