  • Records: Holy Cross (3-7); Siena (0-7)
  • Location: Worcester, Mass. (Hart Turf Field)
  • The Lead: Holy Cross used a trio of second half goals, including the game-winner by senior forward Molly Feit (Acton, Mass.), to defeat Siena, 3-2, in non-conference field hockey action on Wednesday evening at the Hart Turf Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Siena tallied the contest's first goal in the fifth minute (5:00), as Sage Stebbins forced a turnover in the offensive zone and launched a shot from the right side to give the visitors the 1-0 lead.
  • The Saints recorded the second goal of the game in the 34th minute (33:55). Fabiana Citro sent a ball along the right base line into the middle of the circle where Gabrielle Sullivan drove home the opportunity to put Siena ahead 2-0.
  • After a scoreless first half, Holy Cross wasted little time in the second half, as it made the score 2-1 in the 41st minute (40:55). Crusader junior midfielder Michelle McNeil (Canton, Mass.) fed a pass to junior forward Katy Cronin (Franklin, Mass.) on the left side of the field. Cronin reversed her stick and lofted a shot past Siena goalkeeper Mary Drabich to cut the deficit to one goal.
  • The Crusaders knotted the game with just over 10 minutes on the clock (59:30), as freshman forward Maureen Connolly (New Canaan, Conn.) gathered a loose ball during a penalty corner and found the back of the cage to tie the game at 2-2.
  • Feit registered the game-winning goal in the 68th minute of action (67:10). Holy Cross sophomore midfielder Lauren Sutherland (Watertown, Mass.) fed a pass into the middle of the circle to Feit, who slipped the ball past Drabich to clinch the victory for the Crusaders.
