WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior midfielder Maguire Sturgis has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 8-14. Sturgis recorded four points for the Holy Cross field hockey team on Friday.

During Friday’s match against Stonehill, Sturgis had a hand in all three of the Crusaders’ goals against Stonehill. Sturgis scored the game-tying goal early in the second half on a penalty corner opportunity, before recording assists on each of the Crusaders’ next two goals in the 3-2 win.

On the season, Sturgis has already surpassed her career highs in points (14) and goals (5), and leads the Patriot League in points and assists (4).

Holy Cross (2-3 overall) returns to action on Friday, Sept. 21, when they host UAlbany for a 4 p.m. matchup.
