WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross men's lacrosse senior defenseman
Michael Rincon was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
In Saturday's 13-12 win over Fairfield, Rincon tied for the game-lead in ground balls and caused turnover with eight and four, respectively, while adding the second assist of his career. Two of Rincon's caused turnovers came between the Crusaders' tenth goal and the game-tying 11th goal in the fourth quarter.
Rincon has forced a career-high 26 turnovers this season which leads the Crusaders, ranks second in the Patriot League, and is tied for sixth all-time in Holy Cross history. His 47 ground balls lead all Holy Cross defenseman. This is his second Patriot League honor of the season.
Rincon and the Crusaders (6-6, 2-4 PL) return to action on Saturday, April 18 when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to face Bucknell at 11 a.m.
